Towards salary and expenses of Marketing/Volunteer Recruitment staff position to manage volunteers and expand the in-school mentoring program
Association for Women's Residential Facilities
Halifax, Nova Scotia - $6,700
In support of the Food, Fitness and Well Being program offered at the new Nahum Centre, which offers short-term shelter along with life skills, education and employment programs
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto
Toronto, Ontario - $10,000
For their Co-op In-School Mentoring Program. Children identified by their teachers or parents as needing individual support will be matched with senior secondary students for one hour a day, for a full term

For the annual Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival in Montreal
Boundless Adventures
Toronto, Ontario - $25,000
In support of the Young Families At Risk program. An outdoor adventure camp in the Ottawa Valley which targets children aged 2 - 8 with severe behavioural disorders, families experiencing domestic violence, parents suffering from substance abuse and/or who are involved in the criminal justice system, single parent families who are impoverished/isolated, and families with inadequate housing, illiteracy and chronic unemployment

In support of their Metcalf Youth Leaders: Supporting Youth Employment and Food Activity. This initiative makes it possible for FoodShare to provide employment for 28 high-risk youth each year as a transition to full time employment, and uses food activity at the Field to Table warehouse and the Everdale Learning Centre farm as a vehicle for personal change for the youth and as a model for group change for other disenfranchised youth

In support of their Women's Hostel and Day program where women's immediate health needs are met, and they are assisted in developing new skills and finding permanent housing
Frontiers Foundation Inc.

In support of The Operation Beaver program, an ecumenical work camp sponsored by the Canadian Council of Churches. It is Canada's largest and oldest native volunteer service and community advancement agency. This grant will allow the foundation to complete the 100 new and/or rebuilt homes scheduled for completion by next spring

The Centre is the largest day shelter and drop-in for the homeless and people living in poverty in Toronto. Funding was granted for their Drop-In component to enhance their capacities to deliver services and programs and improve the conditions of their service users
Parkdale Community Legal Services Inc.

They have administered Toronto Organizing For Fair Employment ('TOFFE') to improve the working conditions of low-waged and immigrant contingent workers in Toronto. Funding was given to provide for a full time information and caseworker to provide drop-in services and regular telephone counseling hours for contingent workers
